Types of Pianos
The art of moving pianos depends a lot on what kind of piano you have. Keyboard, upright or grand piano?Keyboard can usually be moved inside their own boxes, so when buying a keyboard we recommend you keep the original packaging. If you don't we have some ready made boxes available for pick up at any of our Vancouver Piano Moving locations or we can deliver them to you anywhere in Vancouver of the lower mainland for a nominal delivery fee. We do not recommend moving keyboards in the standard moving blankets as there might be some dust on them and that could get into the keyboard keys. If no packaging material is used and a moving blanket is the only solution, bubble wrap or cellophane should be used to cover the keyboard before wrapping it into the moving blanket.

Upright pianos are the most common kind of piano moves request we get in the Vancouver area. They might be relatively compact but they are also fairly heavy so it is recommended to hire some reputable Vancouver movers to handle the move in order to limit damage to the upright piano itself but also to walls/surroundings and possibly physical injury.
