While we are based in Vancouver BC Canada, we also have affiliates all over the country. We can also provide you with Canada to USA moves and vice versa.  We offer 2 basic long distance moving options. One is consolidated freight and the other is dedicated transport.

Consolidated freight is the more economical option from Vancouver to major Canadian cities like Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. It consists in sharing the cargo space of the moving rig with other clients. For this reason you can save money because of the shared costs. Although space is shared, households are clearly separated by large sheets of plywood inside the trailer, so there is no risk of having items confused or lost. We can pick up the furniture at your residence and drop it off at the destination. You opt to pack the items yourself or we can do it for you, please be advised that self packing of goods might not be covered by insurance, call us for details. 

Dedicated transport consists in having you reserve a truck just for you. In some cases like Vancouver to Whistler and Vancouver Island moves it’s the best option. Medium distance moves within British Columbia are also often executed in this manner and can often be even more economical than consolidated moves.

Dedicated transport can be done with truck sizes ranging from Cargo Van to 5 ton truck, depending on house hold size and nature of goods to be moved. Another bonus of dedicated transport is that often the manager or the owner will take care of the move himself. Your furniture changes hands less often and is handled by owner operators. 

How much does it cost? 

Consolidated freight is usually billed by the pound. That fee is measured objectively by Transport Canada on major truck scales. Cubic feet can also be a factor in the case of unusually big and bulky items. Some fuel charges and other fees might also apply but you will be warned of them at the time of the estimate so that you have no “surprises” upon move completion. Dedicated transport is billed by the load and not by weight unless the truck used is a 5 ton and the load is full. It also depends on the destination but usually we bill on a pre-agreed flat rate fee that we successfully negotiated with the client.
