Vancouver Moving Rates

ImageVancouver moving service rates can vary according to multiple factors. Some of them include but are not limited to truck size, number of men on the crew, time of the month, time of the day, time of the year, nature of items to be moved, distance of move and access to facilities. Rates are charged by the hour, by the load or on a flat rate fee.

The hourly charge is the most common for in and around Vancouver BC and the lower mainland. You get charged from when the movers get to your home to the time they leave, generally there is a traveling time charged on top of the final bill of about 30 mintues on average. That is to pay the crew to get to and leave the move premises as the get paid as soon as they get to our Vancouver office.

The hourly rate varies between $50-$150 per hour, it is vague indeed and depends on too many factors for us to post it on the site. Please contact us for details or fill out our form so that we can assess your Vancouver moving needs and give a you a firm hourly quote. Flat rate or load charge is the best way to pay for long distance moves. That way the client doesn’t have to pay for full labour charges as the truck is traveling often with only the driver for moves leaving Vancouver BC or arriving from any other Canadian or American destination.

While this system works fine for Canada long distance moves, it is not recommened for Vancouver local moves unless the value of the goods to be moved is low or insignificant. If you pay by flat rate the movers will also be paid by “piece work”, so unlike the hourly wages where they can take their time (but still work swiftly and efficiently) in a flat rate move they have to rush a little. That can sometimes cause them to cut corners and not offer services as good as with the hourly rate model.
